The anticipated grand opening of Fresno Ag Hardwares Clovis location  the first expansion to another city in the retailers 146-year history  is scheduled for Thursday with a spin on the traditional ribbon cutting. Located at the corner of Herndon and Clovis avenues, the new 10,000-square-foot location will stock the same products as the Fresno location.

CLOVIS, Calif. — You will soon have a new place to grab a burger in Clovis. Eureka! will open next Monday at the southeast corner of Herndon and Clovis. The restaurant chain has already hired 75 employees for this location. While they’re not looking to hire right now, the manager is still accepting applications.

Eureka! restaurant is about to open its first Clovis location. The regional chain eatery opens at 11 a.m. Monday with a large patio that many people who frequent the shopping center didn’t know existed. Eureka! is in The Trading Post shopping center (the same center as Sprouts) at the southeast corner of Herndon and Clovis avenues.

Fresno Ag Hardware is a family-owned business that has been operating for 147 years—and it has finally come to Clovis. The Clovis Chamber of Commerce held the ribbon cutting for Fresno Ag Hardware’s brand new Clovis location on the afternoon of Thursday, November 9th.

A Clovis gym is offering a creative way to bring exercise opportunities to its members. CycleBar on Herndon Avenue began holding classes outside on Wednesday morning. Staff members placed all of their stationary bikes outside under a big tent, and fans were added to keep everyone cool.

Clovis will get its first Rubio’s Coastal Grill Thursday. There are giveaways – including $50 gift cards and Rubio’s merchandise – for the first 50 customers after the 10 a.m. opening. The restaurant is at 950 Herndon Ave., at Clovis Avenue.

The event will kick off at 7 a.m. and feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, store tours, free food and special deals. The first 200 shoppers in line will receive 20 percent off their initial purchase and every 15th shopper in the checkout lines will receive a coupon book. One dollar deals will also be offered throughout the 28,000-square-foot store and every customer will receive a free reusable bag with their purchase.

Sprouts Farmers Market officially announced Monday it plans to open a Clovis store. The Bee first reported plans to open the grocery store in a former Save Mart at the Trading Post Shopping Center at Clovis and Herndon avenues in May. The specialty grocery store with a focus on natural and organic food plans to open 27 new stores next year. Each will employ about 100 people.

It’s been about 10 years since the Trading Post Shopping Center has thrived as a Clovis shopping site. Today, the transition of the center at Clovis and Herndon avenues is obvious, but so far, it’s not being looked upon favorably. Most of the old trees — about 90% by one city official’s estimate — have been chopped down. But new trees will blossom at the 119,000-square-foot center that was once home to a Save Mart supermarket and CVS.

Clovis is getting a Sprouts Farmers Market. The grocery is coming next year to the Trading Post Shopping Center at Clovis and Herndon avenues, along with a Ross Dress for Less and Skechers stores and Pieology Pizzeria. Sprouts will take over 30,000 square feet of the Save Mart store that closed in 2007, said Chris Shane, Gryphon Capital managing partner. The new tenants, and future ones still in the works, are part of efforts by the center’s new owner to revamp the corner and fill up empty spaces. The sale of the center to a partnership between Gryphon Capital and Rich Development was finalized in April.
